Jeff Meerman is an award-winning and accredited communicator, with over 20 years of experience, who’s helped some of the country’s largest organizations tell their stories and manage their reputations. He’s advised leadership teams and built strong cross-functional teams with accountability for communications, public affairs, media relations and community engagement. Throughout his career, he’s mitigated reputational risk and managed crisis situations that threatened lives, health and corporate reputations.

Jeff has managed complex PR campaigns, digital and sponsorship activations and has been an organizational spokesperson. He’s media trained over 100 executives during his career and has helped companies tell their stories through the news media and other platforms.

A journalist by trade, he’s written for publications like Ottawa Life Magazine and Web Guide Monthly and produced a top-rated CBC radio program called CBO morning. He then moved into public relations working for a PR firm which helped start-ups launch in both Canada and the U.S. From there, he moved on to the public health sector managing issues and crises, most notably Canada’s first case of BSE in 2003. Jeff has also worked in senior communications roles at TD Bank and Bell Canada and was the Director of Communications/Public Affairs for two of B.C.’s largest Health Authorities.

As an active contributor to the public relations profession, Jeff has served as a director of the Canadian Public Relations Society Foundation and was a member of the National Accreditation Committee for the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). He is currently a Program Advisor for Kwantlen Polytechnic University School of Business. He has a degree from Carleton University in Journalism and Political Science, is accredited in public relations from CPRS and has a certificate in Public Participation (community engagement) from IAP2.
